The Lucky Few

I’ll start by saying, I’m proud of you.

Both of you.

For finally saying, “I choose you.”

For joining those who know to whom they'd sing their final note.

And for whom they’d bleed an ocean just to keep afloat.

Those lucky few who can say they’ve loved without fail.

Those who know the name of the wind in their sails.

And while these words may feel hollow and trite,

Know that it's because what you share is beyond any words I could write.

So if not for you, then for all our sakes,

Be happy and to each other be true.

Because today you join The Lucky Few.
